Fishergate Postern Tower – Open Days

The remaining Fishergate Postern Tower Open Dates for 2021 will be on Saturday 2nd + 23rd + 30th Oct + 13th Nov  from 10am to 4pm.  FREE ENTRY    No Need to Book!

We are also considering adding an extra “Pop Up Open Day” on Sunday 19th December – from 10:30 to 15:00

This will be subject to weather conditions, volunteer numbers, etc..

Watch this space for confirmation !

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU, BUT PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE TOWER IF YOU OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD HAS TESTED POSITIVE OR DEVELOPED SYMPTOMS OF COVID19 WITHIN THE LAST 14  DAYS.

We are still following the Government Guidelines closely in assessing the risks of COVID 19 and as a result there will still  be some changes to how we operate on open days to ensure that we can open safely – for both our visitors and our volunteers.  These changes will be regularly reviewed and revised as necessary.

The current rules for opening will be =

  • Max group size: 6 people
  • People from different households should maintain a social distance whenever possible.
  • Face coverings should still be worn inside the Tower, unless exemptions apply.
  • Visitors may scan the NHS QR code or provide their contact-details if they wish.

Groups will be limited to a maximum of SIX.  We are also restricting the total number of visitors in the building at any one time, and asking everyone to maintain social distance from other groups/individuals not with them in their party. Visitors waiting to go inside will be asked to queue around the building.

Within the building, there will be a one way system in which visitors on the way up stop off at each floor, staying clear to allow any visitors descending to pass down.

There will be a hand sanitiser outside the entrance which we ask everyone to use before entering. Please limit any unnecessary touching of surfaces or objects.  Please also note that Fishergate Postern Tower has no water supply – so there are no hand washing or toilet facilities available.

Volunteers will still wear face-masks. Visitors are also requested to wear face-masks themselves (unless exemptions apply).

Please note that the number of volunteers on duty will be reduced and this means the level of First Aid support will be lower than usual.
